I Sing Praises To My Sandwich

Behold, the Beef Martini. Lovingly prepared at Wright’s Gourmet House in Tampa. I’ve been eating these since I was in high school…I would skip lunch for a week and save the money for it.

If I didn’t have family in Tampa, this sandwich would be worth the drive anyway.

Freshly baked bread…
Thinly sliced lean roast beef…
Mushrooms sauteed in white wine…
Crispy bacon…
And warm homemade garlic butter.

There’s just no way around it. This is a life changing sandwich. A culinary spiritual experience. An all-inclusive resort for your taste buds. If you come to Tampa and don’t eat it…well, then you’re a goober.

What’s your favorite sandwich?

A Cheezy Western (all the way) at the Texas Inn in Lynchburg, VA. A hamburger with a fried egg and their special relish. Oh, man.

A close second is a Fried Pork Chop Sandwich at the Snappy Diner in Mt. Airy, NC (the real Mayberry). Andy grew up eating it. It’s too good for words.
