Dusty Old Music

As I mentioned in a previous (and rather embarrassing) post, we’ve been working hard on cleaning out our basement. I’ve come across boxes and boxes of old cassette tapes. I can’t even remember the last time I played a cassette tape! But they’ve provided an interesting snapshot of what I was listening to in the late 80’s and early 90’s…

Matthew Ward…Wayne Watson…Kim Hill…Swirling Eddies…Adam Again…Greg X Volz…Anointed…The Choir…Russ Taff…Morgan Cryar…Audio Adrenaline…Amy Grant…Kim Boyce…Bryan Duncan…Jerome Olds…The Imperials…Bob Bennett…Paul Smith…Bash N The Code…Mark Heard…Dogs Of Peace…DC Talk…Church Of Rhythm…Glad…Tim Miner…Paul Q-Pek…Donald Fagen…Was (Not Was)…Go West…Mr Mister…

I saw Bash a long long long time ago. I’m a big Adam Again fan. And Mark Heard is my song writing idol. His last 3 recordings were master pieces. :) Good tapes! :)

Matthew Ward…incredible voice, loved his solo stuff
Adam Again…very unique. Sorry the Gene Eugene is gone already
The Choir…Played “Wide Eye Wonder” about a million times!
Russ Taff…my first Christian music guy. Saw hime live a few times.
DC Talk…Wow these guys have changed over the years 7 now there doing the solo things.
Tim Miner…not well none, but very underrated. Funky.

Okay, here are my personal top ten from the album years… I think.

Phil Keaggy
Mark Heard
Larry Norman
Randy Stonehill
Dion
Alwyn Wall
Marty McCall and Fireworks
Dallas Holm
James Ward
Mylon
Richie Furay

Okay, that’s 11.
