Sunday Retrospective - August 3, 2008
The first Sunday of August. Can’t believe it.
The last Sunday of our SoulFire series, last Sunday for Bobby McGraw as our interim. Exciting and sad at the same time.
Our set list (links to iTunes where available):
Glory (Reuben Morgan)
You Are (Mark Roach)
Break Through (Tommy Walker) - This is a great song to use when you want to incorporate a prayer time in the set…there’s a really nice bridge section that lends itself well.
Your Grace Is Enough (Matt Maher) - Finally introduced this to our folks, been wanting to for a long time. We played the Chris Tomlin version over our 5 minute countdown so people heard it first…but it’s a pretty easy song to pick up. We’ll probably bring it back this week or next.
After the sermon -
Rescue (Jared Anderson), Breathe On Me (Lucy Fisher), Eagles Wings (Reuben Morgan) - Anna heard this as a medley, and it worked out great. We did verse & chorus of Rescue, then 2 verses and choruses of Breathe On Me, then verse/chorus/chorus of Eagles Wings…then went back to Rescue and played the bridge and final chorus. Really nice arrangement, kudos to Anna’s ears. ![]()
A Thousand Hallelujahs (Mark Roach)
A lot of you have probably seen the skit to the Lifehouse song “Everything” on YouTube…it was posted a year ago, has something like 6 million hits. We did our own version of it, and it went off AMAZINGLY well. Very, very impactful. We have a video of it…if the quality turns out to be good, I may post it.
Oooo, and Mexican food after church. Bueno!

Hey guys,
(As you know) I have no clue what all goes into making the service work, but I thought that Sunday’s service was one of the best we’ve had. Of course Bobby’s message was awesome, but your building the music and skit around it really drove the point home.
I know that the Lord used it in my life, and in the lives of at least two people sitting near me. I could see them weeping as God convicted them of sin in their lives….
I don’t think that every week can be as powerful, but I am thankful that you submitted your talents to Jesus’ control and He really used you Sunday.
Love you guys,
sc
