SoulFire - Braggin’ On Our Team

Our interim pastor Bobby McGraw has begun his final sermon series for us, he’s called it SoulFire. This is what we came up with to accentuate the series (click the picture for a bigger look):

This is made from five scenic flats (wood frames 4 by 8 feet, covered in muslin). We screwed the flats into the wall, projected and traced the sketch from one of our graphic artists, and then painted.

The picture doesn’t do justice to the coolest part. See where the top of the letter i looks like it’s on fire? That’s a flame light effect by Chauvet called, oddly enough, Bob. So the top of the letter really looks like it’s burning. Very cool.

We ain’t NorthPoint, but our team does an amazing job of taking the resources we have and being creative for God’s glory. I love ‘em.

NorthPoint is great, but God doesn’t need another NorthPoint, He needs you…
That is a nice backdrop! How did you stand it up? Lean it against the wall?
Keep posting…
Since i focused on designing 5S (5 senses) experiential worship design elements I amd always on the hunt for for sites like yours that share worship design to include stage design…
I will be back I promise.
I know I often bemoan the fact of having to design on such a small budget (read: what I am able to find in my pocket)

This signage or whatever you want to call it really grabbed my attention during the Sunday Morning service.

The drama I’m not so sure about.

Dorothy - We just used wood screws, through the front of the flat and into the sheetrock. When we’re done, we’ll just patch the holes and do some touch-up paint. Thanks for stopping by, I’ll look forward to continuing the conversation and swapping ideas.
Jeff - You’ll have to tell me your thoughts about the drama sketch sometime…
