For The Beauty Of The Earth

Confession: I love flowers.

I thought I’d share some points of interest at our lovely North Georgia home. I enjoy looking at these every day.

There’s not much prettier than hydrangea. Did you know the color of the blooms is dictated by the acidity of the soil?

This is a lantana. Love the color combination. Butterflies like it too.

Our phlox is a bit slow this year. But when all these little buds open up, it’s gonna be awesome.

And this one is just about my favorite. I can’t remember what it’s called (if anyone recognizes it and knows, please tell me), and we haven’t been able to find one so we can plant more. But this sucker in our planter just keeps coming back year after year. When the blooms start, they’re little balloon-looking things like this:

They get about an inch in diameter, turn purple, and then…poof!

They pop open. Isn’t that cool?

Okay, so what’s your favorite floral gift from God?

VERY nice flowers! It’s hard to choose just one favorite as I’m sure you’ll agree, however, overall I choose African Violets because I grow a lot of them in my house and they bloom all year for me, so I get to enjoy flowers in Winter too! Outside I like Sunflowers - fields of them!!!

Your hydrangeas are beautiful!!! I am so envious!!! You are right about the blue plant in the planter, it’s a balloon flower! They are cool aren’t they, mine come back every year too!

Wow! I’m waiting for a photo of a Keytar-playin’ Mr. Greenjeans.

I did know about the hydrangea color thing, but only because I had seen “The Manchurian Candidate.”
