Watercooler Wednesday - Politics
Speaking of culture…you just can’t get away from politics right now, can you?
I’ve stayed away from the topic in this blog so far. But I might have a thing or two to say eventually.
I will say this. I’ve voted Republican. I’ve voted Democrat. I’ve voted Independent. I think I may have voted Libertarian once, it was a long time ago.
But I have never, NEVER been as sick of the political process as I am right now. And we still have well over a year to go. Sheesh.
Okay, just for conversation…this is a picture of Obama released by the news agency Reuters last week. Does anyone else find this humorous?

well, after he said this last night:
“I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal.”
seems reasonable
Cue the Florida Boys singing “Jubilee, Jubilee”
For me, this is the scariest presidential election I’ve ever encountered. I won’t say just how many that’s been but it’s been quite a few.
I agree with David - this photo seems to match the egomaniacal quote from his speech Tuesday night. I’m not saying the Obama himself is this egocentric, but the speeches and press seem more and more every day to be a cult of personality. I was not around for JFK, but I wonder if the popularity of Camelot was anything like this?
It’s always interesting to work in an environment where liberal sentiment is so pervasive…no, forget pervasive, rabid is more like it. And the comedy is compounded by the fact that everyone I work with is wearing an Army uniform. In the years since I’ve really fully embraced the doctrines of grace I’ve become much mellower about the political process (and I’m speaking as a former hardcore political junkie with two close relatives who are still very much involved in politics)…we all survived eight years of the Sexual Predator-in-Chief (and we have Barack to thank for sparing us (hopefully) from that man ever darkening the doors of the White House again, in any capacity).
(sorry…afk for a few minutes)
My tongue-in-cheek to the Barackster (who interestingly, while in high school in Hawaii went by “Barry”) is a lovely photo of him on my Facebook…on the cover of National Review.

We should all have our picture taken with a patriotic halo around our head!
