Sunday Retrospective - May 18, 2008 (Double Trouble)

For the first time since we’ve been on staff, we had TWO worship services on Sunday (Which is probably why I didn’t blog yesterday…I was exhausted).

The reason? We had a candidate for pastor come in town. Because he’s currently on staff at a church, he couldn’t come on a Sunday morning. So we had a Sunday night service at 7pm to hear him preach.

Can’t really say how it went without corrupting the process. Give us another couple of weeks.

Our worship set:

Sunday AM -
Everything That Has Breath (Reuben Morgan)
All The Earth (Parachute Band)
Be Unto Your Name (Lynn DeShazo)

Sunday PM -
Rise Up And Praise Him (Paul Baloche) - This is an older song, but it is SUCH a good opener.
Glory (Reuben Morgan)
Come Thou Fount, Come Thou King (Public Domain / Thomas Miller)
You Are (Mark Roach)
- Have you bought Mark’s album? Why not?
Offering (Paul Baloche)
How Great Is Our God (Chris Tomin)

A lot of people said that Sunday night was a lot more “electric” and energized than Sunday morning. Anna postulates that maybe we’re not as awake on a Sunday morning. :D

How was your Sunday?

  1. Sometimes it’s the difference in routine that opens the way for us to really feel God’s presence in worship. Maybe that was it. Or possibly the caffeine had time to really take hold.

As a pastor, I imagine the other guy was really wiped too.

    Blessings,

    David

  2. One of our kids commented that the worship was really “alive”. That’s a pretty strong compliment.

Thanks for inviting me! It was great to see everyone.
