Anna and I went with our friends Neal and Meda on Friday night to see Casting Crowns at MacKenzie Arena in Chatta-Vegas. Opening acts were Leeland and John Waller. Great concert.
Leeland on stage. Did I mention we were on the second row?
Casting Crowns had a GREAT looking set.

From an article on the Yale Daily News:
Aliza Shvarts ’08 wants to make a statement…Beginning next Tuesday, Shvarts will be displaying her senior art project, a documentation of a nine-month process during which she artificially inseminated herself “as often as possible” while periodically taking abortifacient drugs to induce miscarriages. Her exhibition will feature video recordings […]

For today’s Watercooler Wednesday…
From Jeffrey Overstreet’s fantastic book “Through A Screen Darkly“:
Wise men studied the skies and then set out after a star, which led them to the Christ child. Those with eyes to see will be drawn to follow beauty and truth, and they will encounter God. In the multiplex. On DVD. In post-viewing […]

We had a really impacting service. Great message - Bobby started a series through 2 Timothy. Too bad more people weren’t here to experience it. All the Dalton schools are on spring break this […]

I haven’t watched any of American Idol. Don’t know who’s in the final eight, don’t much care.
I’ve been reading with interest all the web reaction to the performance of “Shout To The Lord” on A.I., and specifically the replacement of the name “Jesus” with “Shepherd” (and the return of “Jesus” the next night, apparently).
My first […]

To prove the point of my previous post…
Last night, Anna and I watched “Martian Child” with John Cusack. It got two thumbs down from Ebert & Roper. It got a 27 out of 100 at Rotten Tomatoes. It didn’t make it onto anyone’s Top Ten list (or Top Redeeming Films list, for that matter).
And we […]

I really like movies. I enjoy the big-screen, surround-sound theater experience, and I also enjoy sitting at home with a DVD.
As I’ve already blogged in an earlier post, we’re rather picky about what we watch. I will often watch or read the big-name movie reviewers…usually, if they like something we probably won’t, and vice-versa. Mainly, […]
