Sunday Retrospective - April 20, 2008
By Paul on Apr 20, 2008 in Sunday Retrospectives
Another “down” Sunday attendance-wise, thanks to Spring Break. But better than last week. And Bobby knocked it out of the park with a great message on covenant friendships.
Anna felt very specifically led to focus worship on why we’re gathered together. Our worship set:
You Are (Mark Roach) - We started with a new song (to us) from Mark Roach. Check out his CD, “Every Reason Why” on iTunes by clicking here.
Offering (Paul Baloche) - Lyrically, very strong coming out of “You Are”.
You Are Near (Reuben Morgan)
Here I Am To Worship (Tim Hughes)
Holy Is The Lord (Chris Tomlin / Louie Giglio)
No blow-the-roof-off-the-dump rockers today. Maybe next week.
UPDATE: Forgot to mention that we used this clip of Brian Regan for an illustration during the service…Bobby was making the point that a covenant friend points you to Christ, not himself. What else could we use to emphasize this point except “The Me Monster”? Hilarious…

Great video clip - did you show the entire thing?
I’m curious as to how long your services are as well…we’re stuck at 60 minutes and it drives me nuts sometimes….

Yeah, we showed the whole thing. Very, very funny.
Our services start at 10:30am, and are supposed to end at 11:45am, so a grand total of 1 hour and 15 minutes. Often, we end up getting close to 12 noon. If we go over that for some reason, there are people that will let us know, regardless of what’s going on (as in the mass exodus a few weeks ago before and during Communion).
