Watercooler Wednesday - Chasing The Light

For today’s Watercooler Wednesday

From Jeffrey Overstreet’s fantastic book “Through A Screen Darkly“:

Wise men studied the skies and then set out after a star, which led them to the Christ child. Those with eyes to see will be drawn to follow beauty and truth, and they will encounter God. In the multiplex. On DVD. In post-viewing discussions online, at home and, increasingly, at the local church…inquisitive moviegoers will be out there chasing the light.

And…

A filmmaker might make a terrible movie, but one good image within it can stay with me, mysterious, burning. And that can enrich my appreciation of moments I experience after leaving the theater.

This is why I love the adventure of watching movies. Granted, my tastes are such that I don’t watch as many movies as most people. But that doesn’t diminish the journey.

I’m with you. I don’t watch many movies at all, so the trip to the theater is something special.

Dude, have you seen August Rush? Having had conversations with you about movies, I think you would really like this risk free movie.

Thanks for the good recommendation on the book!

Ditto on August Rush. The kids all liked that one.
