Sunday Retrospective - April 6, 2008

I’m still pondering and processing everything that happened in the service yesterday.

We have to look at services on multiple levels (those of you who are worship leaders know what I’m talking about). On the spiritual level, God is able to work in all things, and we cannot know what transpired in someone’s heart. On the physical level, we have to look at what we did, decide what “worked” and what didn’t, and correct mistakes.

All I will say on here is that I was frustrated with the service yesterday, on the “physical” plane.

Here’s the songs we did -

All The Earth (Parachute Band)
Hear Our Praises (Reuben Morgan)
Our God Saves (Paul Baloche / Brenton Brown)
Eagles Wings (Reuben Morgan)
Great Redeemer (Paul Baloche)
There Is A Fountain (Public Domain)

We also had a beautiful violin duet on the hymn “What A Friend We Have In Jesus”.

I will give a shout-out to whatever kid it was that decided to use the side door in the worship center for a fast-and-loud mid-sermon exit. Thanks for that special moment.
How was your Sunday?

We had a good, but packed service. The choir sang an older song medley that was just okay - kind of an odd arrangement. The worship songs were Hosanna (Baloche), Praise to the Lord the Almighty, Made to Worship, Shout to the Lord and I Could Sing of Your Love Forever. The pastors message was excellent and focused us on “Loving God”. Also it was Communion Sunday. All in all a good day. Staff evaluation tomorrow.

I wrote about my Sunday today too! Although I didn’t include the set list for the Worship…I did have an unexpected surprise after services!

Paul - I wrote about our service yesterday, too…it went well and I think God did some serious business with people.

I’m really curious as to what exactly frustrates you on the physical plane. I struggle with that myself at times; it’s hard to know what to let go and what to work through.

I just started my worship blog, and I linked to you. Looked forward to staying connected…

Beth,
Since I have some people from my church who read this stuff, I’ll reply to you in an email. Don’t want to get anyone (or myself, for that matter) in trouble over something..
